What are the requirements for the spouse of the returned overseas Chinese, their child and the child of the overseas Chinese living in other cities to apply for registered permanent residence in Shanghai?

1) The unemployed person in other cities who marries the overseas Chinese, their child or the child of the overseas Chinese of Shanghai residents and lives in Shanghai long enough (seven years in the urban area, five years in the rural area) can be authorized to settle down in Shanghai. If the other party in other provinces is the woman, she can be authorized to bring with her the child under age (under the age of 16 or still a middle school student) to settle down in Shanghai; 2) if the rural population of other provinces marries the returned overseas Chinese, their child or the child of the overseas Chinese of Shanghai rural population and applies to settle down in Shanghai, the spouse’s residence, it should be processed according to current rural population residence policy; 3) if Shanghai resident marries the returned overseas Chinese, their child, or the child of the overseas Chinese of other provinces and his/her spouse applies for registered permanent residence in Shanghai, it can be processed with reference to the above regulation.
