Special traditional snack, Chikan Town

Chikan Town is around 15 kilometers to Kaiping downtown area, by Tanjiang river. It is the good place to taste local snack, such as duck congee, sirloin noodle, clay-pot rice, special fried Tofu, roast goose. If you taste duck congee, you can go to Special Congee King of Changdi, Xiajie and Guan Qiong Chicken & duck congee of Kaiping Lane. They operate only at night and close in the day, many customers from Kaiping downtown go there at night. Sirloin noodle is another special snack in Chikan Town. Many restaurants have steady customer source for good taste, such as Dahai snack and Huanhua snack of Zhonghua Dong Road, Dafu restaurant and Wenhua restaurant of Zhonghua Xi Road. And most of clay-pot rice restaurants are located at Kaiping Lane, if you wish to have clay-pot rice, you can go to Kaiping Lane and taste it at Jun’s restaurant, Wanli restaurant, Xiaohuang restaurant, and Zhaoli restaurant. These restaurants line at both side of street. Qiji roast goose and special fried Tofu are famous snack. Fried Nubbly Tofu together with fish paste, a special snack is completed. Many restaurants run special fried Tofu in Kaiping downtown; however, they also name Chikan Fried Tofu. There are also many large restaurants in Chikan Town, such as Nanjiang Hepan restaurant and Guanhai restaurant near to Nan tower, Hongxing restaurant of back street, Zhonghua Xi road. And, Chikan Town is regarded Kaiping central Town by Guangdong People’s government together with Shuikou Town and Cangcheng Town. They promote economical development of Kaiping.
