Kaiping’s first red original drama “Diaolou·Hanyan’s Homecoming” held a media meeting

In order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and promote the study and education of party history, Kaiping City has fully explored the red cultural resources of the local hometown of overseas Chinese and meticulously created Kaiping's first original red drama "Diaolou·Hanyan Homecoming".On the afternoon of September 13, the drama organizer held a media meeting next to the Zili Village Diaolou group, one of the world cultural heritage-"Kaiping Diaolou and Villages", and invited China News Service, China Well-off Network, Nanfang Daily, Yangcheng Evening News, Mainstream media such as Guangdong TV Station, Guangzhou Daily, Hong Kong Commercial Daily, Southern Metropolis Daily, NetEase, Jiangmen TV Station, Jiangmen Daily, Kaiping Media Center, etc. shared their creative experience downstairs.

The guiding units of this event are the Organization Department of the Jiangmen Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Propaganda Department of the Jiangmen Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Bureau of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Sports of Jiangmen City, and the Jiangmen Federation of Literary and Art Circles. The lofty charm and persistent conviction of the revolutionary cause of sacrifice, selflessness, patriotism and dedication also embodies the great spirit of Kaiping overseas Chinese's love for the motherland, generous donations, and self-sacrifice, and interprets a different "overseas Chinese hidden front" revolutionary theme.



"Diaolou•Hold Swallows Return to the Nest" is the first drama script of Zhang Biyun, chairman of the Kaiping Writers Association. Her creation is inspired by the family and country sentiments of the ancestors of overseas Chinese, and integrates the historical truth into the artistic treatment, so that the audience can gain in remembrance and remembrance. Education and reflection.As a native of Kaiping, she hopes to present the overseas Chinese culture, the past of the Diaolou, and the women in the hometown of overseas Chinese to the audience through artistic means, and show the audience a picture of the history and culture of the Diaolou to express her love for this land and the overseas Chinese. The patriotic and affectionate admiration and pursuit of the revolutionary ancestors.

"Diaolou·Hanyan's Homecoming" is directed by Chen Cai, director of the Drama Creation Center of the Institute of Comedy Aesthetics of the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Opera and research librarian of the Guangdong Provincial Cultural Center.She said that the Diaolou embodies the multi-level and multi-faceted contradictions in the development of social change. From the unique architectural art of the Diaolou, she sees the common points of artistic expression. "Diaolou·Hanyan Homecoming" takes the Situ family in Chikan Town as the character prototype, and is based on multiple true historical stories in Kaiping. She hopes to create a true love for the motherland, self-sacrifice and hardship for the audience through the authentic re-creation of art. The image of the unsung heroes of the Cantonese overseas Chinese who are struggling.



In order to further improve and polish the script, on July 25, the organizer invited Wang Wei, director of Guangdong Art Research Institute, Liu Jinghong, deputy director of the Art Department of Guangdong Department of Culture and Tourism, Zhang Jinqiong, deputy director of Guangdong Cantonese Opera, and Guangdong Art Research Wu Weiqing, former director of the institute, Lai Hanyan, former party secretary of Guangdong Opera House, Liang Shaofeng, deputy secretary-general of Guangdong Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and Lin Jinzhou, full-time vice chairman of Guangdong Dramatists Association, held a script creation seminar at Guangdong Art Institute.The script was fully affirmed by participating experts. Experts believe that the script has "three firsts": for the first time in the history of drama, the world cultural heritage "Kaiping Diaolou and Village" is combined with a drama; The creation and arrangement of the first large-scale original drama in the history of literary and artistic creation in Kaiping City, "Diaolou·Hanyan's Homecoming", has a positive and significant significance in promoting the literary and artistic creation of the red theme of overseas Chinese in Guangdong and even overseas Chinese in China. Up to now, the script has been revised more than 50 drafts.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Kaiping City has launched this original drama with a red theme, which aims to transform Kaiping’s overseas Chinese revolutionary resources into fresh teaching materials for party history learning and education, telling red stories, inheriting red genes, and promoting patriotism. Unite and lead the broad masses of party members and cadres in Kaiping, as well as overseas Chinese, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan compatriots, to forge ahead and work hard.After the success of the performance, Kaiping City will further polish and upgrade the script, and strive to tour the province to show Kaiping's cultural soft power.





There are 10 main actors participating in "Diaolou·Hanyan Homecoming", all of whom are from the "Chen Cai (Beijing) Drama Workshop". They are all outstanding actors graduated from the Central Academy of Drama, Shanghai Academy of Drama and other professional colleges.After the meeting, the actors and actresses also gathered on the spot to deepen their understanding of the characters in the play and the overseas Chinese culture in Kaiping.

The rehearsal of the drama officially began in mid-August, and group performances are now underway. Rehearsals are planned to be held on the 21st, and two consecutive nights will be performed at the Qiaodu Grand Theater of Jiangmen Performing Arts Center on the 22nd. Day is the premiere.
